The application of mehendi on the girl's hands and feet was at one time done by the female relatives or friends. Today, however, the occasion usually involves the application of " Mehendi" not just on the bride - to - be but also for her friends and relatives by professionals, accompanied by singing, dancing, rejoicing, and feasting.

Food
The food could be the usual lunch or dinner or, for a touch out of the ordinary, on this occasion, you can engage a chaatwala and serve a variety of chaat and other delectable fast foods.

Mehendi is applied usually amidst much gaeity and festivities, to the beat of the dholak and singing of traditional mehendi songs.Dholak may be played by relatives and friends.
